Bob Evans Exhibition
Bob Evans Pictures
Bob Evans was born in Hampshire in 1940. He lived in Hampshire, Germany and Kent until 1957. His grammar school misled him into a career in Pharmarcy ameliorated by playing trumpet in a jazz band.
On abandoning this path he travelled, worked, painted and married. In 1968 he began to study Art, first in Birmingham, then in Nottingham. This experience depressed him so much that he became an art teacher, only escaping after ten gruesome years. Frequent visits to France maintained his admiration for the painting of the 19th and 20th centuries.
In the eighties he left full time teaching to concentrate on painting and exhibiting. By 1992 he had become freelance, selling paintings, organising exhibitions of his own and other's work and working with advertising and design companies. Since then he has shown work in many galleries, visited Spain, Mexico and Morocco and continues to paint and exhibit work regularly.
Bob Evans lives and works in Nottingham, UK.
