NANDA ONE ACT OPEN PLAY FESTIVAL 2014

A letter sent to all interested parties

Dear Colleague

I am writing to you as you have in the past expressed an interest in the One Act Play Festival organised by the Nottingham and Notts Drama Association.
In 2014 the event is to be staged at the Bonington Theatre in Arnold on the 14th and 15th March with the adjudicator being GORDON PARSONS a respected and experienced drama educationist and practitioner in our region.
The closing date for entries has been fixed for the 31st January 2014. I enclose the rules and entry form.doc.
I am particularly aware of your very strong networks and contacts and hope that I could prevail on you to use all your valued efforts in ensuring that we gain sufficient entries to sustain this long established and worthy Festival.
Sadly in 2013 we had to cancel the event and I do not want to countenance such a disappointment again.
In the past few years teams have reached the All England Semi Finals and from the performances already given in our Play of the Year Competition we in the East Midlands should take our rightful place in the National Finals spotlight and awards.
Although designated as a One Act Play Festival there is nothing to prevent Groups submitting entries which comprise just one act of our regular three act presentations.
Many Groups are currently at work on such ventures and separate acts could easily form part of this Festival.
Also I am aware from the programming that many one act plays are scheduled for performance that would make a perfect fit for the Festival.
The only stipulation being that the piece presented must have at least 2 players and last no longer that 55minutes.
Thank you for your time and grateful consideration.
I am hoping you will do all you can to enable NANDA to continue with this great long established Festival.

I do so look forward to hearing from you

Bob Wildgust
One Act Festival Coordinator
