NANDA ONE ACT OPEN PLAY FESTIVAL

14th and 15th March 2014

I am writing to advise that plans are now afoot to stage the 2014 NANDA One Act Open Play Festival. The event will be staged on the evening of Friday 14thMarch 2014 commencing at 7-00pm and the afternoon and evening of Saturday 15th March at 2.00pm and 7.00pm. The Festival which is open to non NANDA members will be held at the Bonington Theatre Arnold.

We have been privileged to obtain the services of GORDON PARSON as our adjudicator who has established himself as a leading director and drama educationist in the area. His work includes the running of several courses on theatre and has proved to be one of the most popular of our NANDA Adjudicators We look forward again to his expertise and seasoned judgements.

This One Act Play Festival, relaunched in 2010, forms part of NANDA's firm belief in the value of the "one act" to stimulate greater opportunities for Group member participation/ training and to maintain this often neglected art form. In addition to these incentives in 2014 the winning play of this Festival will be eligible to compete in the AETF All England One Act Play Festival involving a Quarter Final in Leicester (26th April), a Semi Final at Nuneaton (31st May) held at the Swan Theatre Worcester and a subsequent English National Final at the Swan Theatre Worcester in June 2014. The costs of attending these rounds will be subject to a grant awarded by NANDA

The cost of Group participation in our Nottinghamshire Festival in March has been set at £50 per group, inclusive of up to 16 free tickets to one of the Festival sessions. Additional tickets can be purchased for other sessions at £5 per person per session.

I would particularly draw your attention to the following
• A copy of the rules to be adopted for use at the Festival
• A list of Trophies to be awarded at the Festival
• A Festival entry application form for completion by your Group ( Contact Group Secretary )

I would welcome the opportunity of attending a future meeting of your Group Committee to explain and encourage participation in this Festival if you consider this would be welcome.
