ST JOHN'S CHURCH DRAMATIC SOCIETY in 1986
Chairman: Nita Marshall - Draycott
Secretary: Joan Robinson - Sawley
The Society was formed in Long Eaton over 30 years ago, in 1953, and is a small Church Society recruiting members from churches of all denominations in the district. Its limited membership has made it difficult for the Society to vary its productions to the extent that the membership would have wished and the Society seeks material suitable for performance on church property.
The Society meets for play readings, occasional outings to the theatre and the organisation of fund raising activities.
The Society has a proud record, having been awarded a number of trophies through participation in the NANDA Three Act and One Act Festivals.
Recent productions include
"How the Other Half Loves"
"Gaslight"
"Old Tyme Music Hall"
"Absurd Person Singular"
"Sweeny Todd the Barber"
