5 YOUTH FESTIVAL 2022
The Chairman apologised for any misunderstanding at the last last meeting and thanked Mel for all his hard work and commitment to the Youth festival. Mel said that he was happy to do the admin work for the festival, however he said that due to health concerns he would not be able to attend the event in person. It was agreed that under the current circumstances, it would be difficult to hold the event, but that the situation might change. RH was confident the event could go ahead. JW confirmed that the venue - Chilwell Olympia - had been booked for Thursday 7th and Saturday 9th May. More volunteers would be needed for lighting, backstage and refreshments. MS said he would do the lighting this time only - a volunteer must be found for future festivals. GP suggested that teachers/group leaders should take more responsibility. This item to be kept under review and discussed at the next meeting.
MR to redraft original invitation letter, send to RH for approval and then send it out to groups

6 PLAY OF THE YEAR
JW reported that there had been six entries so far - from Whetstone, Arts Theatre and West Bridgford. More are expected in the new year, namely LaceMarket (January), Whetstone (April), Blind Eye (May). Groups intending to enter are:- Bonington(2), WBDS (2) and LaceMarket (2). This is an encouraging response, but it was agreed that more groups should be represented. There was a discussion on how to encourage groups to enter. There was a brief discussion on positivity in adjudication
JW to contact groups to remind them the PoY is still taking place and encourage them to enter
PoY Dinner
LW said that the dinner might cost more if less people attended - any less than 120 people would incur an extra charge.

7 AGM 2022
GP suggested that we invite groups to a discussion on topics such as the Play of the Year, the Youth Festival and workshops and add the AGM at the end .
This item to be discussed further at the Zoom meeting on 10th January.
