5 SUMMARY OF GROUPS’ACTIVITIES
CD had emailed all the groups in May asking for details of their future plans - if any. Five groups had replied - Robin Hood, WBDS, Bonington Lace Market, Radcliffe on Trent with details their programmes. Council members updated the details of other groups activities - namely Ratae, Whetstone, Ravenshead, Blind Eye, Beeston
6 PLAY OF THE YEAR
Some groups had expressed an interest in entering the Play of the year competition. RH concluded that there was enough interest to run a PoY competition albeit at a reduced number of entries. It was pointed out that the PoY had run with low numbers in the past.
BB asked whether an evening of 3 one act plays could be entered. There was a discussion on the merits and difficulties of this and it was concluded these could be entered, subject to there being at least two evening’s performances and a running time of at least one and a half hours.
RH noted that NANDA had a healthy balance, which was kept at this level for “rainy day money”. The current situation was indeed a problem for all groups. There was a discussion on how best to offer help and it was decided that we waive the fees again this year. In order to encourage participation in the PoY, it was agreed that the first entry would be free of charge and that entries would be limited to three for each group. JW estimated that this could cost up to £1,000, but it was agreed that this could be afforded.
LW confirmed that the PoY Dinner was booked for June 24th 2022. The deposit of £100 was due soon. The price was the same as last time - £32, but this might be increased if there were lower numbers.
Action - JW to put the details of the revised rules regarding one act plays into her PoY communication
7 CURRENT AND FUTURE PLANS
There was a discussion on the Youth Festival - if there was sufficient interest , this could go ahead. An organiser would have to be found.
One Act Festival - This could run independent of AETF. HW suggested it could be run over a season, like the PoY, but with a separate adjudicator
Action - RH to email all member groups outlining our proposals
The meeting ended at 8.25pm
