3 MINUTES AND MATTERS ARISING.
The minutes of the previous Council Meeting held on 11th January 2019 had been circulated
and these were signed as a correct record.
Re the item in AOB where GP proposed adding an item to the AGM agenda regarding the
awarding of grants to groups. Although the motion was defeated GP objected to the fact that
numbers were not given. He said that it should have been recorded as “the motion was defeated
by 4 votes to 2’ and said that in future any vote should give the names and numbers of
those voting for and against. Whilst the minutes were amended, there was no support for
recording the names of those voting and whether they were for or against.

Dinner - Linda Whitehurst had looked into the cost of hiring a projector and screen so that
photos of the productions could be displayed at the Dinner. This will cost £147 from Crowne
Plaza. There was a discussion on the pros and cons of this idea and how it could be achieved.
JW will email groups about submitting photos of their production.
Youth Festival 2020
Mel Reynolds had received some positive response from contacting NANDA groups and other
youth organisations. So far he had heard from 4 groups who wished to take part:- East
Leake, Youth Peoples Theatre (2), Lace Market and Carlton le Willows school. He outlined a
simplified pricing structure which would encourage young people to attend. Children under
19 - free; adults £4; NANDA groups £10 per entry; non NANDA groups £30. RH congratulated
him on his hard work which had paid off.
6 NANDA ACTIVITIES
Bob Wildgust said that the Council had spent 18 months discussing how best to help NANDA
members and that groups had been consulted. Several groups had expressed an interest in
courses. He circulated to the meeting a report outlining a skills programme of workshops and
courses that could be presented in the 2020/2021 season and financed from NANDA’s current
funds. The programme was very well received. It was agreed that a sum of £1500 be allocated
from current funding to finance the programme now submitted and that RW be asked to
report to the next meeting the development of the programme.
RH is investigating whether a group discount for insurance is possible.
6 THEATRE LUNCHEON
LW had had no success with getting a speaker. As “celebrities” are proving difficult to find,
there was a discussion on who could be approached to give an interesting theatre related talk.

10 ANY OTHER BUSINESS
MR asked whether the Gurd Award was still in existence. NM said that at present there was
£320 left in the award fund. JW reminded members that the award was designed to honour
“unsung heroes” rather than those who performed on stage.
