Minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 20th November 2018 at Aspley
Present:- Joan Wildgust (Chairman), Christine Davison (Secretary), Barbara Barton, Mike Stewart, Bob Wildgust, Gordon Parsons, Neil Macintosh (Treasurer), Tony Vokes, Mel Reynolds, Rob Hurst.

1 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

2 MINUTES AND MATTERS ARISING.
The minutes of the previous Council Meeting held on 23 October 2018 had been circulated and these were signed as a correct record.
Matters arising to be discussed in the relevant agenda item.

3 HON TREASURER'S REPORT - as at 20/11/2018
Balance = £8981.95
NS&I = £2367.02
Current = £6314.93
On hand = £300.00
Increase = £465.8
SINCE LAST MEETING

PLAY OF THE YEAR COMPETITION
Entries 6 x @ £65 each = £390
THEATRE LUNCHEON - ADAM PENFORD
Receipts - 5 @ £20 each = £100
OPERATIONS
Subscriptions - Group membership 3 @ £25 each
TOTAL = £75
EXPENDITURE
Central Area Affiliation = £25
PLAY OF THE YEAR COMPETITION - Howard Whitehurst Trophy = £74.20
Online banking - NM now has the forms and this will be set up with the bank. It was unanimously agreed that there be a total of 4 signatories - NM, CD, JW, HW.
The Treasurer then presented his report for the Financial Year 1/9/2017 to 31/8/2018.
The terms profit and loss were now replaced by surplus and deficit. There was a question about whether the youth festival should make such a large profit.
The Chairman thanked NM for his hard work in producing the accounts.
The report was carried unanimously

4 THE FUTURE OF NANDA
There was a wide ranging discussion on ways in which NANDA could offer support to its member groups. Suggestions included:-
New groups join at half price for the first year
Help with costs of publicity
Finance courses. Subsidise young people in courses (either our own courses or
New adjudicators - Chantelle Thornley, Helen Foster and Malcolm todd had expressed interest in accompanying RW on an adjudication.
BB had phoned seven groups to assess their interest in attending meetings and/or being involved in activities.
GP had had no success as yet in contacting any key individuals. He continues to attend other groups plays whenever possible.

5 FESTIVALS
Play of the Year 18/19 and Awards Dinner
Eight entries have been adjudicated so far.
Youth Festival
To date, no-one is available to organise next year's festival. JW will contact Jean Lebeter about how to organise the event and will contact all groups and previous entrants to assess the level of interest.
AETF - WBDS have expressed an interest in entering the AETF festival . JW has passed the information on to them.

6 THEATRE LUNCHEON
There is a record 64 people attending the luncheon on 14th December, with guest Adam Penford

7 MEDIA
Howard Whitehurst reported:-
As far as the new website is concerned, this should go live this week. There has been some difficulty making it compatible with Apple/Mac devices.
Facebook is well engaged with by groups except Lace Market, East Bridgford and Market Harborough. There is a facebook widget on all the website pages which displays all upcoming production posters except for the above named groups and that@s a shame.

8 MEMBERSHIP
NM reported that there were two outstanding reminders to be sent

9 DATE OF NEXT MEETING
Tuesday 11th December at 7.30pm at Ruddington
Date of AGM - Saturday 26th January 2019 at 2.30pm at the LaceMarket Theatre. This is provisional. GP will contact Barbara Fisher and confirm
