4 FESTIVALS
Play of the Year 17/18 and Awards Dinner
JW said there had been 25 entries from 15 groups. All the adjudications were now in and the results known only to Jane Herring and JW. RA will be asked to present the prizes and Steve Herring will give out the certificates.
Dinner - LW reported that she had received more than the usual number of problems this year. More people want to pay by bank transfer and under our current system there is no way of knowing whether their payment has gone through. In future one person from each participating group needs to be responsible for collecting names and money. The venue needs payment, choices and table plans three weeks before. These issues need to be discussed at a future meeting.
Youth Festival
This year's festival had been successful and well attended. JW announced that Jean and Mark Lebeter would no longer be organising the festival . Consequently a new organiser needs to be found. JW will speak to Sonja Oates and Sara Ogando to see if they might be interested. This matter will be discussed further in September.
5 THEATRE LUNCHEON LW will contact Adam Penfold (Director of Nottingham Playhouse)
6 MEDIA
HW said that the new website will be ready for the new season
7 AOB
JW mentioned Notts and Derbys Amateur Theatre - a new organisation on Facebook. Nothing more is known of the group.
JW announced that next year's adjudicator would be Bob Wildgust. Although Bob has stood in for other adjudicators he has never been the main one. After a brief discussion it was agreed there would be no conflict of interest with Joan being the competition organiser.
This will be announced at the PoY dinner.
8 DATE OF NEXT MEETING
It was decided to hold council meetings in the evening for the next few months in order to attract younger people who are at work during the day. JW will make a plea at the dinner for more people to attend council meetings and get involved with the running of NANDA.
Next meeting:- Tuesday 4th September at 7.30pm at Arnold.
The meeting closed at 8.37pm
