Minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 13th December at Aspley

1 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Were received from Barbara Barton, Mel Reynolds, and Mike Stewart.
2 MINUTES AND MATTERS ARISING. - The minutes of the previous Council Meeting held on 15th November had been circulated and these were signed as a correct record.
The suggestion by Barbara Barton that Council members (or just the President) have a visiting card was rejected as it was deemed to be too expensive.
Tony Vokes reported that the follow-up letter sent by GP after attending a production was well received by WBDS.

INCOME = £1111.14
EXPENDITURE = £558.77
PROFIT = £552.37
The financial year end report was presented to the Council.
Notes:- The donation to charity, currently under 'Miscellaneous', will in future go under 'Theatre Luncheon'.
Profit was down by about £400 this year. This is mainly due to the extra mileage expenses incurred in the Leicestershire adjudications.
It was unanimously agreed that the accounts should go forward to the auditor.
JW thanked Neil for his hard work throughout the year.
4 FESTIVALS
Play of the Year 16/17 and Awards Dinner
Eleven entries have been received up to Christmas.
The adjudicator has presented an invoice for £823.70 for the period up to Christmas.
JW noted that the mileage rate had gone up from 25p to 40p per mile and that the expenses for three adjudications had not been covered by the £65 fee. She said that NANDA should subsidise the Play of the Year competition for the benefit of members.
BB sent her thanks for Beeston Players' adjudication.
One Act Play Festival

Youth Festival 16/17
Chilwell has now been booked for the following sessions:-Thursday 11May from 3.30 - 6.30 (for setting up). Saturday 13th May (main day) from 10am to 10 pm. Sunday 14th May (provisional) from 12.00 to 6.00pm. Venue is not available on Fridays
5 NEW ACTIVITIES
The planning group - RW, TV and GP - presented their proposals to the Council. Currently this will consist of two major events.
A reception at The Council House or County Hall. LW will contact both venues for a reception in March or April 2018.
A NANDA screening at Broadway cinema with a buffet reception. This would also give publicity to NANDA. It was agreed to proceed with this idea. GP will reserve Sunday 19th November 2017 (afternoon) for 80 people. The choice of films was discussed and the following submitted: A Chorus of Disapproval (1st choice), A Bunch of Amateurs (2nd) and The Dresser (3rd).
RW said he hoped groups would get involved with their own events. BF will investigate holding an event at the Lace Market Theatre
6 THEATRE LUNCHEON
LW will contact Vicky McClure at the Playhouse in the New Year.

RA said that concern was still being expressed about the theatre at Stanford Hall and that rules on preserving its protected status seemed to be being ignored. He said that letters were being sent to the Theatres Trust and the Little Theatres Guild in the hope that they might help.
10 DATE OF NEXT MEETING
The next meeting will be the AGM at WBDS Studio on Sunday 29th January at 6.30pm. There will be a short Council meeting following this.
