4 APPOINTMENT OF NEW PRESIDENT - Forward Planning
Following the current President, Roy Ainscough's decision to resign, it was decided to have a preliminary discussion about his replacement.
RW began by saying that one consideration should be what sort of president do we want:- a practitioner who is known amongst the local groups or a local(or even national) figurehead, whose role within the organisation would be less 'hands on'.
He said that NANDA has progressed over recent years, to become a presence within local amateur theatre. A discussion followed on the relative merits of having a practitioner or figurehead president. Various names were suggested, but it was decided to continue the discussion at the next meeting when more members would be present. RA said that he would formally resign at the AGM, but would be willing to continue until a replacement is found. It was agreed that this is an important decision which must not be rushed.

5 FESTIVALS
a)Play of the Year 15/16 and Dinner
JW reported that 10 entries had been received so far from eight groups. Four entries have been received from the new groups - Ratae, Whetstone, Argent and Market Harborough. It was noted that adjudication of the Leicestershire groups would entail extra expenditure in travelling costs. It was decided that NANDA could support this extra expenditure, but a supplement may be requested from Leicestershire groups next year. Market Harborough had been informed that the number of entries for a group was limited to 3. RW asked whether groups were aware of the inclusion of the Leicestershire groups. JW will email all the groups informing them of this. The Theatre Imp production of Jerusalem was adjudicated by Bob Wildgust, Bonington's next production will be adjudicated by Stephen Godward.
b) One Act Festival - 2016
RW reported that no entries had yet been received for the competition, but that several groups had expressed an interest.
Regarding the matter raised at last month's meeting - namely the issue of professional actors in amateur productions, RW said that he had received a reply from AETF. Copies of this letter were circulated to council members who discussed the matter. AETF felt that the wording currently used in Festival rule 3 regarding definition of the word 'professional' served the purpose adequately.
RW had also raised the issue of conflict of interest in his letter to AETF. They replied that everybody should be encouraged to become involved with committee work as well as acting. It was proposed and agreed unanimously to accept AETF's response.
RW will pass this information on to Ali Bakewell (director) and Rob Dixon (chair) at WBDS. TV noted that it had only been the intention of WBDS to obtain clarification on the matter of professional actors.
HW said that NANDA should incorporate AETF rule 3 into our rules for next year's competition.
c)Youth Festival
Nothing to report. Jean Lebeter will look at suitable dates.
