Minutes of the Meeting of the Executive Council held on Tuesday 11th March 2014 at 67 Aspley Park Drive, Nottingham
Present:- Joan Wildgust (Chairman), Christine Davison (Secretary), Neil Mackintosh (Treasurer), Mike Stewart, Madeline Lord, Bob Wildgust, Linda Whitehurst, Barbara Fisher.
1 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE were received from Sonja Oates, Mel Reynolds, Howard Whitehurst, Tony Vokes, Roy Ainscough
2 MINUTES AND MATTERS ARISING. - The minutes of the previous Council Meeting held on Tuesday 17th December 2013 had been circulated and these were signed as a correct record.
There were no matters arising.
The Chairman welcomed Barbara Fisher to the Council as the representative for the Lace Market Theatre, of which she has been a member for many years.

The Gurd Award currently stands at £500 and is not earning its own interest. It had been decided at a previous meeting that this amount should gradually be reduced to zero as the award is given in the forthcoming years.

4 FESTIVALS
a) Play of the Year 13/14 and Dinner
There are thirteen entries so far with another entry from Orchard to come. Entries so far comprise:- Magpie - 2,Bonington - 2, Orchard - 1, West Bridgford - 2, PTC - 2, and one each from Burton Joyce, Theatre Imp, Prospect, Lace Market Youth.
The Chairman showed the Council the new trophy - the Stephen Godward Award for outstanding youth performance, which will be awarded at the adjudicator's discretion. It can be awarded to an individual or group; the criterion being the winner(s) are 19 and under on the date of the first production.
Dinner - Linda Whitehurst said that there was nothing to report as yet, she will contact the manager at the Welbeck Hotel towards the end of March.
b) One Act Festival -
Final arrangements for the festival, to be held on 15th March, were discussed. There were four entries from Beeston, West Bridgford, Market Harborough and Market Harborough Youth. The festival is to be held at the Bonington Theatre and Bob Wildgust said that he had been very impressed by the service offered and that the manager David Popple, had been very helpful. An article and photo would appear in the Nottingham Post.
The Market Harborough groups had elected to be judged at the Leicestershire festival, which meant that the two Notts groups could automatically proceed to the next stage. He reminded members that NANDA would offer up to £100 for expenses for any NANDA group going forward to future rounds.
He reminded members again that the quarter final in 2015 would be hosted by NANDA and that it was important that our region had sufficient entries. There was a discussion on ways in which groups could be encouraged to enter.
c)Youth Festival
The information has gone out but there is nothing further to report. Madeline Lord will contact Sonya Oates about progress.
5 THEATRE LUNCHEON
Nothing to report.
6 NEWSLETTER/WEBSITE
No further information as yet about the Facebook users' course or the directors' course. Some groups with their own Facebook page were again urged to link up with the NANDA page as an effective way of promoting their plays.
7 CORRESPONDENCE /AMENDMENTS TO MEMBERSHIP

9 AOB - Theatre News
Michael Dowdeswell emailed a report on the successful meeting of the SHUG Action Group. There had been strong support and officers had been appointed.
Robin Hood Theatre - .This is now back in use and will stage its first production in April. It is owned by the Robin Hood Theatre Trust
10 DATE AND VENUE OF NEXT MEETING - Change of date
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday April 22nd at East Leake
