4 FESTIVALS
a) Play of the Year 11/12 and Dinner
Joan reported that four very different plays had been adjudicated so far. There would be no more adjudications now until after Christmas. Groups involved had been pleased with their adjudications. There are five more groups intending to enter, but no forms have yet been received.
POY Dinner Nothing to report.
b) One Act Festival -
Bob Wildgust sent a brief report. He had received several enquiries from groups in Derbyshire. Some NANDA groups had expressed a firm interest but he was still waiting for entry forms to be sent in; so far no group had given a firm commitment. He will email all groups again after Christmas to remind them.
Following a request for information Neil Mackintosh gave the Council details of the costs for hiring the Duchess Theatre in Long Eaton. An evening session from 6 - 11pm cost £150;Afternoon/evening session from 1 - 11pm cost £220. Set up time was charged at a lower rate. Costs included duty manager, bar staff, dressing room provision. Technical support could be offered or could be provided by the hirer.
c) Youth Festival
Joan reported that Sonya Oates and Jean Lebeter were organising this; there was nothing more to report at the moment.
Further enquiries had been made, but the missing trophy for best actor had still not been located. After a discussion, it was resolved that the Council send a bill for £200 +VAT to the actor responsible to cover the cost of a replacement trophy, with a copy to the Lacemarket Theatre Youth Group and to the treasurer of the Lacemarket Theatre.
Mike Stewart suggested that in future a photograph should be taken of each trophy, for record purposes.

There was nothing to report. Jack Barrett would be following up leads in the New Year..

8 AOB
Bonington Theatre - Linda Whitehurst will inform the Council when pricing and other information is available.
People's Theatre Company - The AGM was held in November and a Committee was elected. The Chairman is Colin Treliving, the Secretary is Christine Davison. The group has had three productions so far - including a new play by Simon Carter who won the One Act Play competition in 2010.
Stamford Hall Users' Group (SHUG) representatives had been in touch with the new owner, who had noted their interest.

Roy Ainscough explored the idea of NANDA introducing a Certificate of amateur drama expertise, making use of the experience of many of NANDA's members, by offering training modules to people interested in furthering their interest in theatre. There was a discussion about the practicalities of such an idea and Joan Wildgust urged members to give the matter further thought.
