Three groups had not responded to reminders for 2009/2010 membership and these have been deleted; they are Arcade Players, Dales Music and Drama Group and Southwell Theatre Club. An individual member, Scott Taylor, has not renewed. Ravenshead Theatre Group and Chatsworth Centre have resigned but Howard will follow this up.

4 Festivals
a) One Act Festival
The English final, held on 5th June was won by Oasis Youth Theatre, Southampton, with a play entitled 'One Million to Stop the Traffic'. The area semi final winner was TACT (Totally Active Community Theatre) with 'The Mother Tree', which went on to be runner up in the final.
There is nothing to report yet about the details of next year's NANDA One Act Festival.

b) Youth Festival
Joan will assist Sarah Kelly with the Festival. Sarah will organise the venue (Chilwell Olympia) and liaise with Joan and Jean Lebeter in September.
Jack Barrett said that the Lacemarket Theatre and Bilborough College had already expressed interest. He will provide a contact with Bilborough.
It was noted that the planned legislation on volunteers working with young people had been halted by the new government, and it was hoped that this would encourage more groups to enter.

c) Play of the Year and Dinner
There was a brief discussion about final arrangements for the forthcoming dinner.
Regarding next year's competition, Joan proposed two amendments to the rules:-
i) Re the Sidney Hopkin Trophy for best newcomer, nominations for this have to be made when the play is entered.
ii) Take out the option of a recorded adjudication.
These were agreed by the Council.
It was noted that although fourteen plays had been entered, only seven groups were represented. There was a discussion about ways in which more groups could be encouraged to enter - for example an article in the newsletter and website. This would be the ideal time to promote this.
There was a discussion about next year's adjudicator and several suggestions were put forward. Letters about next year's competition need to be sent out by mid August so an early decision is needed.

5 Theatre Luncheon
Jack has still been unable to get a definite commitment from Robert Lindsay's promoter. It was suggested that Robert Lindsay may be unaware of the request. It was agreed that Liz Hagan contact Lesley Reason, who knows RL personally; she may be able to persuade him. Other possible speakers are Norman Pace, Amanda Whittington and Billy Ivory, the latter two both have connections with Nottingham. It was decided that Jack try for AW or BI anyway and hopefully achieve a definite booking by the end of June

6 Newsletter and Website
Howard will write an article on the NANDA dinner.
Roy (by email) suggested the possibility of setting up a NANDA agency for extras. He was recently asked whether he knew anyone who was willing to be an extra for a day for a promotional film for Liverpool museum. Five NANDA members spent the day at Quorn Station, dressed in Victorian costume. This idea will be explored further at the next meeting and Roy has offered to write an article for the newsletter about it.
Website
Mike asked for any amendments, new information and mistakes or errors to be emailed to him. Members want an up to date calendar but groups need to supply the information.
Jack will write an article about the Theatre Luncheon.
