HUWAITE PLAYERS in 1986
President: Keith Coleman - SUTTON-IN-ASHFIELD
Secretary: Gill Saxton - SUTTON-IN-ASHFIELD
Huthwaite Players usually put on a Play at the Sutton Centre Theatre twice a year in the Spring and Autumn. During the year meetings are held once a fortnight on a Tuesday evening from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm at which we undertake various activities including Play readings, quiz shows, mime and improvisation.
Theatre outings are arranged from time to time throughout the year and occasionally we invite a guest speaker to address our group. In addition to these meeting nights we have other social evenings including a Christmas Social.
We have in the past, particularly at Christmas, taken either a small one-act Play or "potted pantomime" out to various places such as Old People's Homes and Hospitals.
Our Annual General Meeting is held on the first meeting night on February at which we elect a Committee for the forthcoming year. It is then the Committee's responsibility to arrange the yearly programme and select Producers and Plays for the season.
