ANNUAL REPORT 1995-1996

Play of the Year Competition.
Eleven plays were entered for the competition which John Shooter adjudicated. The Association records its great appreciation of the work of Margot Anderson who acted as organiser for the competition. A list of the societies and individuals who were awarded trophies is published separately.

One Act Open Festival.
The Association held its One Act Open Festival at the Chatsworth Centre, Long Eaton on 07-08 June 1996. The Festival was included as part of the Long Eaton Arts Festival. Eight entries were received, Bob Wildgust adjudicated and the list of award winners is published separately. The Association records its appreciation of the work of Mary Allsop in organising this Festival, of Mike Stewart and Neil Mackintosh for assistance with the detailed stage management arrangements, and of the staff of the Chatsworth Centre for the hospitality arrangements.

One Act Youth Festival
The Association held its Youth Festival at the Robin Hood Theatre Averham, on the 12-13 April 1996. Eight entries were received. Allen Tipton adjudicated and the list of winners is published separately. The Association records its appreciation of the work of Dawn Hatfield in organising this festival, og Mike Stewart for assistance with the detailed stage management arrangements and the staff of the Robin Hood Theatre for the operation of the stage lighting and sound equipment .

Bulletin
Editions of the Bulletin were published in September 1995 and, incorporating the Leicester Spotlight, in February 1996, thanks are due to Roy Ainscough for editing.

Donations
The Association is indebted to Rushcliffe Arts Association and to Long Eaton Arts Association for donation in support of the Play Festivals. We have also received sponsorship from the Littlewoods Foundation For Sport And The Atrs towards the Playwriting Competition.

Events
A theatrical quiz was held at the Black Lion, Ratcliffe on Trent, organised by Liz Morgan and a Theatrical Luncheon with Eleanor Bron was arranged by Doreen Sheard

Annual Award Dinner
This year's Annual Dinner was held at the Stamford Hall, The Moat House, Mansfield Road, Nottingham on the 10 May 1996, Joan Appleton presided, and John Shooter presented the Adjudicators report on the Play of the Year Competition. The Association records its sincere thanks to Bramcote and Stanton Drama Group for arranging the venue, buffet and entertainment.

Membership
Solo Theatre Company and Greyfriars Club were welcomed into membership.

Executive Council
The Association records its appreciation of the services and support of the Honorary Officers and members of the Executive Council, which met eleven times during the year
