ALL HALLOWS DRAMA SOCIETY in 1986

Chairman: Mrs E A Wykes - West Bridgford
Secretary: Mr A E Wykes - West Bridgford

Our first production for which we hold accounts was in 1952. A play entitled "A Man in a Bowler Hat". Since 1952, apart from a couple of years when work on our premises stopped our productions, we have produced two full length plays a year.

Over the last few years in January we have produced a Pantomime, from which arose a small but eager group of youngsters hungry to learn and to he involved in drama. Pantomimes are now a regular feature of our season.

Our senior members come from all walks of life, Policemen, Barristers, Accountants, Solicitors, Builders, TV Technicians, Secretaries, Domestic Consultants and Nurses. Junior members are under the age of 18.

We have also tried entering One Act Play Festivals with some success but we are a fairly small group with very limited travelling facilities. Recently some success has come our way in full length competitions, eg award for Best Actress Cup for two years running. We do mainly comedies with some serious work for our own experience. We pride ourselves on being a friendly society.

Our last three productions have been
"Wanted One Body"
"There Goes the Bride"
"Beyond a Joke"
